The finesse allows drinking right away, but it's made for cellaring.

Riesling Grand Cru Pfersigberg 2007

Dry white wines - Selected by Bettane and Dessauve
Paul Zinck created the winery in 1964 and, by buying and leasing parcels, it has become one of the great independent producers in Alsace, with 30 hectares of vines. The vintage 2007 wines are clear and fresh. The wine: frank, with a nose of fresh citrus and white flowers, the taste well-balanced with good minerality.

Pinot Blanc Alsace 2008 - Score: 87/100

Here's a fine, sharp Pinot Blanc with moderate body and good acidity that upholds the notes of lemon, pear and earth. Slightly spicy, with a long floral finish. Ready to drink now.

Riesling Alsace Grand Cru Pfersigsberg 2007 - Score: 91/100

The aromas and pronounced taste of flint define this Riesling, with notes of Granny Smith apples, tangerines, honey and white peaches. The wine reveals richness and elegance. The invigorating acidity provides a racy, saline finish. Good for drinking until 2028.

This Pinot Blanc 2008 is pale yellow with glints of green, characteristic of a wine meant to be drunk young. In the mouth it combines freshness with a dry fullness and opens gradually on notes of poached apples mixed with fresh butter.

4 stars (highly recommended) with a score of 16.6/20. Lean and tight. Big and powerful. Very perfumed with spicy notes, rather like a touch of Gewürztraminer, but it's still pure and characterful. Great élan and style.
